Franklin Method bodywork + Acupuncture + Sound Bath
Join us for the first day of Spring as we welcome new beginnings.
In the same way you might engage in the Spring cleaning of your external environment, your body needs to clean out your internal environment, both physically and emotionally. Hence, Spring is the time for rejuvenation.
In Chinese Medicine, the focus during this season is specifically on rejuvenating the liver and gall bladder. These 3 complimentary healing modalities will help stimulate circulation within and around these organs. When the liver functions smoothly, physical and emotional activity throughout the body also runs smoothly.
Lisa Ortega-Loya, owner of On Balance Pilates, will start with Franklin Method techniques designed to relax tight muscles, improve circulation and focus your mind on your body. Special attention will be given to the liver, ligaments and tendons.
The Franklin Method is an imagery-based systematic method for movement and postural retraining. You will be trained to observe, contemplate, and optimize your movements using self-touch, sensory cues and proprioception. You will learn how to move the body with maximum efficiency in order to keep it youthful and energized.
After you have prepped your body for deep relaxation, get ready to relax and melt as Mariya Gold administers acupuncture to corresponding ear and head points….
…during a blissful sound bath of crystal bowls and gongs performed by Jennifer Reuter.
This is sure to be a truly transformative and healing event.

Mariya Gold is a licensed acupuncturist. She has been offering her healing services at Kailua Acupuncture Clinic since 2011. She considers it a privilege to be able to use her knowledge and experience to help people who are seeking physical, mental and spiritual balance.
Lisa began her Pilates journey in California where she received a Theater/Dance degree from Cal State University, Fullerton. Managing her back pain from scoliosis, she worked for several chiropractors and discovered the Pilates technique was the only thing that helped relieve her symptoms. Lisa immersed herself in Pilates work and became one of the founding members of The Institute for the Pilates Method, the only national Pilates organization at the time.
In 1993 she opened On Balance Pilates Studio, the FIRST Pilates studio on Oahu. She has since moved to Kailua where her current studio also offers Dynamic Strength, TRX, Floor-Barre (R) and Bones for Life (Feldenkrais based).
Lisa has conducted many workshops on Oahu and outer islands for HMSA, Alexander and Baldwin, Mid-Pacific Country Club, Ko Olina, Olelo, and YMCA. Through years of continuous study and personal practice, Lisa has developed a unique eclectic style. Her teaching integrates her rehab, dance and fitness background, and she enjoys challenging and inspiring her students to move with grace and efficiency in their bodies. Lisa hosted the Franklin Method educators here on Oahu and they are the first group to be certified in Hawaii for the Level One Franklin Method Training. She continued with her Franklin training in Portland and is now Level Two certified.
